Week of June 4th
This is our last week of school together. Over the summer please continue to go on Moby Max. Practice the Language and vocabulary sections. The Reading sections are very beneficial to help raise your reading level. Try other sites like Read Theory, Newsela, Kahn Academy. Read a few novels over the summer. Take a break from your video games, go outside and read under the shade of a tree. You will love it! Write down what you see, keep a summer journal. Summer Bridge Workbooks are also very good to keep your brain ready for school in August.
The Cafeteria is now closed, you must pack a lunch this week.
Registration is going on for Vacation Bible School that will be offered for grades K-6 at St. Sebastian this summer. Grades 7 and up can volunteer to help. Please check the green envelope. This is a good way for children to work with other students throughout the vicariate.
Please check the green envelope for the Champions Summer Camp Program offered at Sacred Heart.

I have been spending some time helping out some 5th grade students with organization. We have labeled folders, making sure that there is one for each subject or a file for each subject in an accordion file. Labeling each folder or file is crucial. The kids need to be able to put classwork, homework, notes home in the appropriate place so that they can find any assignment at home to work on or to turn it in on time when they are due. Reinforcement at home will really help them. Check their Case-Its, Accordion files, folders, etc...make sure all their work is filed accordingly. Check their planner and powerschool to see if they are missing any assignments that have been turned in. Organization alone can bring grades up. This is one of the most important skills they need to learn in middle school to be a successful student. Being organized also boosts their confidence, they come to school knowing they have all their work ready to turn in and they are ready for a successful day of learning.

We still have about 4 or 5 Tech forms not returned, your son or daughter will not be able to use the computers, tablets, or Chromebooks until this acknowledgement form is signed. Ask your child if I called their name.
Tomorrow we will vote for our classroom reps, we had two new students start yesterday who wanted to find out more about this position so we delayed the vote.
